Using Zapier with NiceData

Set up the document processed trigger, upload documents from Zapier, and manage connected subscriptions.

Capability What it does
Document processed trigger Runs when a document finishes processing and sends document, project, organization, and parsed output details into Zapier.
Upload document action Creates a new document in a selected NiceData project from a file URL that Zapier passes to NiceData.

Use the document processed trigger

  • Turn the Zap on after choosing the connected NiceData account and the trigger event.
  • Zapier creates a dedicated NiceData subscription for that Zap, so future completed documents can trigger the workflow automatically.
  • Trigger payloads include document metadata, processing status, project details, organization details, and parsed output when it fits inside the payload limit.
  • If Zapier cannot find sample data during setup, complete at least one document in the connected workspace and test again.

Understand parsed data limits

  • Very large parsed outputs are not inlined into the trigger payload.
  • When this happens, the payload tells you the parsed data was truncated and includes metadata such as the payload size and digest.
  • If you need the full result for larger documents, retrieve it from NiceData instead of assuming every trigger payload contains the full parsed object.

Use the upload document action

  • Select the NiceData project where the uploaded document should be created.
  • Provide a direct file URL that NiceData can fetch from Zapier's action step.
  • NiceData rejects private or internal network targets, which helps protect the platform from unsafe upload sources.
  • Prefer short-lived, authenticated file URLs from your source system so sensitive documents are not left exposed longer than necessary.

Manage the connection later

  • The Apps page shows whether Zapier is connected and how many active Zapier-owned subscriptions exist for the workspace.
  • Owners and admins can disconnect Zapier from that page to revoke OAuth access and deactivate Zapier-owned subscriptions.
  • If only one Zap should stop running, turn off or delete that Zap in Zapier so the related subscription can be cleaned up.
Troubleshooting

If the connection flow does not appear, confirm that your workspace has Zapier access enabled. If uploads fail, double-check the selected project and make sure the file URL is reachable from the public internet.
